Your nationality affects how you celebrate New Year’s Eve. This year we look at the Nordic traditions.

In Sweden, it’s common to make New Year’s resolutions and toast the new year in champagne or other bubbly drink.
According to the Nordic Museum, people jump into the new year in Norway and Denmark. At the stroke of twelve, you stand on a chair and jump with a coin in your hand to avoid poverty during the new year.
If you live in Finland, you cast New Year’s tin to bring good luck to the home, the farm and the family in the coming year.
