HOW SWEDISH ARE YOU?
2025-06-06
Of course, Sweden isn’t unique in having our own tradition and foods. All over the world you can find dishes that neighbouring countries looks at with horrified delight, or even disgust. Here at ESBE vi have colleagues from all over the world and we have noticed that the Swedishness can be a bit contagious. The question is how much our colleagues have been affected by working at a Swedish company? Are they still rookies in Swedish food culture, or have they reach the master level?
Joi nus on a journey where we test the limits of our colleagues’ Swedishness – in true ESBE style! In the test our friends got to try Swedish delicacies, such as:
- Sandwich cake – Smörgåstårta, an ESBE staple that’s served at celebratory events
- Pickled herring on crisp bread – Sill på knäckebröd
- Easter must soft drink – Påskmust
- Boiled egg with ”Kalles” creamed cod roe – Kokt ägg med Kalles kaviar
- Princess cake – Prinsesstårta, known as Småland’s national pastry
These Swedish delicacies might not be to everyone’s taste, but all of us on the editorial team agreed that they all brought back strong memories from childhood. Which is your favourite of these Swedish classics?
