NEWS! ESBE VTN200: OPTIMIZED FOR BOTH HEATING AND COOLING

2026-03-16

We are now launching the next level of safety - an intelligent anti-freeze valve that secures the operation of the heat pump.

Following the success of the VTN100, ESBE is now launching the next level of safety.
The new VTN200 is an intelligent anti-freeze valve that secures your monoblock heat pump, whether it is providing heating or cooling. For owners of monoblock heat pumps, the risk of frost damage during power outages is a well-known concern.

ESBE's VTN series has quickly become the industry standard for proactively draining the system before the water has time to freeze and crack expensive components. With the VTN200, the protection is now expanded to apply all year round.

Optimized for both heating and cooling

According to ESBE's Product Manager, PerJohan Brodén, the key innovation regarding VTN200 is the integrated ambient temperature sensor. In modern systems that run both heating and cooling, the water temperature can drop low even during warm summer days.
-    With the VTN200, we have created a solution that is optimized for both heating and cooling, explains PerJohan. Thanks to the sensor, the valve remains closed during the summer (above 6 °C outdoors), even if ice-cold water is flowing through the pipes to cool the house. This eliminates the risk of unnecessary draining when the system is functioning as it should.

Automatic protection when needed

PerJohan emphasizes that as soon as the outdoor temperature drops below 6 °C, the anti-freeze function is activated automatically. If the media temperature drops below 3 °C, the anti-freeze valve opens to evacuate the cold water and allow warmer water to flow through. It then closes automatically once the temperature reaches 4 °C. Everything happens completely mechanically – no electricity, no hassle, and no manual reset is required.

Operational reliability in focus

Both ESBE series VTN100 and the new VTN200 are built on a robust construction with an axial seal, a detail PerJohan highlights as crucial for reliability.
-    The seal is designed to be exercised by the water flow, which means it never gets stuck despite long periods of inactivity. This makes the valves practically maintenance-free and ready to perform exactly when they are needed the most.

A small investment that prevents high costs

Installing the VTN200 on both the supply and return line is an easy choice for those who want to sleep well at night. A frozen heat exchanger or cracked pipes are a nightmare for every homeowner.
-    With the VTN200, we eliminate that risk all year round, regardless of whether the pump is heating or cooling. It is simply a smarter way to secure your investment, he concludes.
