ESBE GROUP’S CEO LOOKS BACK AT 2024

2025-02-18

We asked our CEO, Peter Cerny, to summarise 2024 by telling us about the events that stood out during the year and that he thinks are worth highlighting.

Annual report 2024, signed by Peter Cerny

2024 has been a year heavily influenced by a sharp slowdown in the energy transition – a challenge both for ESBE, and for the industry as a whole. But despite a slowdown in sales, ESBE chose to pursue all planned investments and also to retain all staff. This is because we at ESBE have a long-term view and a strong belief that the energy transition in Europe will gain new momentum going forward.

ESBE’s continued work in 2024

Although the year has been characterised by tougher times, we have continued our set course. Firstly, in 2024 we have continued our work on sustainability and social responsibility with undiminished strength and scope. Not least in our preparatory work for the new CSRD reporting requirements that we will report on in the future.
Another bright spot in 2024 is that we have started up a sales company in the UK, ESBE Ltd. We have had good sales in the UK for a long time but see further potential and growth opportunities with our own sales organisation that can work very closely with customers.
On the home front, in 2024 we launched the continued plan to expand the factory in Reftele. This work is ongoing, and we look forward to being able to inaugurate the new factory section and machines during 2025.

The ESBE brand

We work very actively with our brand, not least by participating in various trade fairs around the world. The fairs are an important meeting place for us where we can meet both existing and prospective customers. Among other fairs in 2024 we exhibited at Nordbygg in Stockholm, Sweden. Nordbygg is the largest construction fair in the Nordic region.
In recent years, we have also worked diligently to make ESBE visible on social media. We see that customers are increasingly using social media to find new products and get help and advice when choosing products. And then it is important that we are visible and active on the relevant channels

Awards in 2024

The past year has had its bright moments on other fronts too, and I would like to highlight two awards the I am particularly proud that ESBE has received.

•    Gold Member x 2 – Sweden’s Best Managed Companies

The award is a real quality stamp that is not only based on turnover and results, but Deloitte looks at a number of different parameters such as how we work with HR, environmental questions, strategies, development and more. “Gold Member x 2” is given to companies that have received the award “Sweden's Best Managed Companies” five years in a row. I am very proud to have such great colleagues and that ESBE for five years has been a company that has shown that we can meet the high standards set by Deloitte.

•    Årets Karriärföretag 2025 – Career Companies 2025

We were also named one of Sweden's Career Companies for 2025 for the second year in a row. After a tough selection process among about 1000 other employers, ESBE was finally one of the 200 companies that received the award. It is particularly gratifying to receive the award as we work actively to market ourselves to various universities and colleges and offer ambitious students opportunities for thesis work and permanent employment. Today there is fierce competition for the best talent, and we are proud that many people choose to make a career at ESBE.

Finally
I would like to end by saying a big thank you to all our fantastic staff, suppliers and customers around the world. Although the past year has been challenging, you make my job so much more interesting, exciting and valuable. Let's take what we learnt in 2024 and look ahead to 2025, re-energised and continuing the good work of delivering the highest ESBE quality at all levels. Together as ONE ESBE.
